Adjunct Meeting Planner Careers
During your educational experiences, you may find that you love being involved in meetings but being a planner responsible for the whole enchilada is too much at first. You want to ease into it but don’t know where to start. Here are some ideas to consider.
Culinary Arts
If you enjoyed learning to plan the dinners and receptions the most, you may want to consider more education in the culinary arts. There are lots of culinary institutes around, sometimes several in one city. Community colleges also offer various courses of study, including a pastry chef specialization.
Interior Decorating
If you enjoy creating a setting, an education in interior decorating could boost your abilities as a planner when you are ready to make that jump. Art departments in community colleges and four-year programs are great choices, and you may not even need to complete a degree in the field if you just want to add this to your list of specialties.
Foreign Travel
If you want to help people who wish to travel abroad, get additional training in foreign exchange and culture. International studies can help your foreign country specialties, as well as backgrounds in various languages and customs. You can spend a few months as an intern in Forex offices, foreign language educational alliances, and non-profit cultural groups.
